Tender winning company has already started the construction of a 6 km long section of the main gas pipeline aimed to supply natural gas to the Akhalkalaki region. Construction work is being carried out by Gas Transportation Company alongwith its sub-contractor New Energy.
2.5 km long trench has already been excavated and polyethylene pipes have been lowered on 1, 8 km. Construction works are scheduled to finish early in December. The contract also envisages installation of two distribution points in order to supply 7 villages of the Akhalkalaki region with natural gas.
