Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation will displace Kutaisi-Sokhumi section of the main gas pipeline to another corridor

Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation will move Kutaisi-Sokhumi 30 km damaged section of the main gas pipeline to another corridor. 500mm main gas pipeline located on the right bank of the river Rioni near the village Dapnari, Samtredia region was washed out as a result of the rise in water level. Thus, posed danger to the pipeline integrity.  Displacement of the pipeline was the only alternative to ensure its stable and uninterruptable functioning. 

GOGC concluded an agreement with Saqhydromsheni to carry out construction works in a timely manner. The company will dig the trenches and lower the pipes on 1, 5 km. The diameter of a newly built pipeline is 530mm and the total length is about 1, 1 km. “Saqhydromsheni” will complete the construction works by December 25. GOGC allocated 1 200 000 GEL for the pipeline displacement.
