GOGC Dismantles Inactive Section of
18 June, 2026
GOGC continues the dismantling of decommissioned gas pipelines within the scope of relevant permits and project-defined works.
At this stage, the dismantling of an inactive, approximately 17-kilometer section of "Karadagh-Tbilisi" DN500 main gas pipeline (Line I) is underway. The scope of works includes the removal of pipes with a diameter of 500 mm.
The implementation of this project is critical from both a technical and economic standpoint. Pipes left idle for extended periods gradually deteriorate and depreciate in value. Additionally, their presence can sometimes hinder the operation and maintenance of nearby active gas pipelines.
A portion of the pipes recovered during the decommissioning process is being sold via an electronic auction.
