GOGC to construct aerial crossings over several sections of main gas pipelines, specifically across rivers

27 August, 2026

To enhance the safety and reliability of Georgia’s gas supply system, GOGC is continuing the construction and rehabilitation of main gas pipeline infrastructure.

GOGC has announced a tender for construction and reinforcement works on aerial river crossings across three strategic sections. The procurement covers the construction of crossings over Kvirila River on "Saguramo-Kutaisi" main gas pipeline, the Tezami River on Lines I and II of "Vladikavkaz-Tbilisi" DN700 pipeline, and the Gubistskali River on "Kutaisi-Sukhumi" DN700 main gas pipeline.

As part of the project, the installation of required piles, supports, and various structures for the above-ground pipeline sections is planned to improve the operating conditions of the existing infrastructure.

These sections are of critical importance to the country's gas supply network. "Saguramo-Kutaisi" main gas pipeline serves as a vital link connecting Eastern and Western Georgia. "Vladikavkaz-Tbilisi" section forms part of the North-South gas corridor, playing a major role in ensuring a stable gas supply to the capital and the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. Meanwhile, "Kutaisi-Sukhumi" pipeline supplies the Samegrelo and Black Sea coastal regions.

The completed works will reduce the risk of accidents during natural disasters and ensure uninterrupted gas supply to the regions.
