Reconstruction of River Lekhura Underwater Crossing Completed
23 March, 2016
Reconstruction of River Lekhura Underwater Crossing on Kaspi Branch of the “Saguramo Kutaisi Main Gas Pipeline” completed.
In 2002-2003 floods caused the Kekhura river bank and bed scour and left the underwater pipeline exposed. In the past several years the pipeline section was exposed ever further, therefore it was necessary to reconstruct the pipeline crossing.
Within the frames of the reconstruction project, JSC Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation replaced 280 meter long gas pipeline, the company laid 120 meter long concrete pipe along the water crossing and installed an isolation valve.
