GOGC Plans Construction of New "Kotelia-Aspindza"
05 August, 2026
Main Gas Pipeline GOGC is initiating the necessary procedures for the construction of the "Kotelia-Aspindza" main gas pipeline. This 23-kilometer pipeline represents a crucial section of the southern main pipeline system and plays a vital functional role in the region's gas supply, specifically supplying natural gas to Aspindza municipality and surrounding populated areas from the village of Kotelia in Akhalkalaki municipality.
Owing to the degraded technical condition of the existing pipeline, GOGC decided to construct a new gas pipeline within the framework of the action plan approved by the Government of Georgia. The new pipeline will completely replace the old infrastructure.
A scoping conclusion required by environmental procedures has already been prepared for the project.
The tender conditions have been published on the Unified Electronic State Procurement Platform, with the deadline for bid submissions set for September 3.
GOGC’s ongoing and planned projects, which encompass the design and construction of main gas pipelines and their branches, will significantly contribute to increasing system capacity, ensuring its stable operation, and providing an uninterrupted gas supply to the population and strategic facilities.
