Georgian Energy Projects and Energy Security Discussed in Chaqvi.

Georgian energy projects and energy security issues were discussed in Chaqvi. The delegates representing different agencies: Ministry of Energy of Georgia, Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation, MCG Georgia, USAID, Georgian State Electric Systems, Georgian National Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, Kaztransgaz, Itera, International Energy Corporation , Telasi and Georgian media representatives participated in the conference that took place in Oasis Hotel on 27-28 September.

During two conference days the attendees had an opportunity to take note of a number of presentations covering various issues, among them: second stage of works scheduled at the Main Gas Pipeline within the framework of MCG, Odessa-Brody oil pipeline project, market regulations in Georgian gas sector, international transit projects and participating opportunities for Georgia, terms of agreement with Shah-Deniz consortium, new market regulations and the special program for coming winter period.

The conference agenda also included holding of several sporting competitions; the winners of nominations for most interesting respondent and journalist were announced, followed by banquet and awarding ceremony.

The organizer of the conference was Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation. The project was financed by UNDP project " Capacity Building of GOGC for Sustainable Development and Energy Security"
