Ekaterine Sisauri Inspected the Final Stage of Gas Pipeline Rehabilitation in Akhmeta
Ekaterine Sisauri, the General Director of the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC), accompanied by Shalva Kiknavelidze, Technical Director of GOGC, conducted an inspection of the construction process of the underground crossing situated on the Khevgrdzeli River at the 176th kilometer of the Rustavi-Telavi-Zhinvali (DN300) main gas pipeline.
The pipeline supplies Telavi, Gurjaani, and Akhmeta municipalities. The existing segment necessitated replacement due to malfunction, which had previously resulted in interruptions to the natural gas supply to consumers in the affected municipalities.
The renewed, 310-meter pipe will be positioned in the riverbed to ensure maximum safety and to mitigate potential risks, specifically to prevent washout and subsequent damage caused by the river flow. Upon the successful completion of the technical works, the pipeline infrastructure will be transferred to the Georgian Gas Transportation Company for the purposes of system commissioning and official operation.
The works are being performed by GOGC utilizing its own internal resources.
