Natural Gas in Akhaltsikhe

Today, the President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, symbolically set fire on Akhaltsikhe gas station upon completion of construction works on Aspindza-Akhaltsikhe 32 km length section of gas main pipeline. President also visited David Gvarjiladze's family that was connected to natural gas source only a few days before.
Construction works of Aspindza-Akhaltsikhe pipeline was launched in autumn, 2008. It was performed by the company "New Energy" by request of GOGC and amounted to 15 million GEL.
Gas distribution in Akhaltsikhe is conducted by company LN. The mentioned company is the winner in the Expressing of Interests that was announced by Ministry of Energy of Georgia.
